I have windows 98, and IE 6.0 Where can I download safely a flash player compatible with both?

Microsoft sends you around and around in circles, til you stumble on a page that directs you to online support. But if you have windows 98, they no longer answer the questions for free. (That's a rip!) So if someone with real knowledge, and experience could tell me where to find a safe download for a flash player that is compatible with both windows 98 and IE 6.0, it would make my day! Or if that isn't a possibility... what do i choose?

Try Mozilla Firefox which can be downloaded for free

if you go to a website with flash content, it will automatically ask you to download it. When you click yes, it will automatically download.

No more searching required. Firefox is compatiable with all versions of Windows.

Why Mozilla Firefox and not IE?

Why do some people advice us not to use IE and ask us to use Mozilla Firefox?

Why Mozilla Firefox and not IE?microsoft updates

Three reasons:

Reason #1: AD-BLOCK.

Reason #2: AD-BLOCK.

Reason #3: AD-BLOCK.

For me, advertisement-free browsing provided by Firefox with Ad-Block outweights everything else.

I hate ads, and Ad-Block almost completely rids me of all kinds of advertisements - in-line banners, pop-up windows and anything else they come up with.

Protection against most of spyware, adware, malware, big-brother-ware and other kinds of other crap delivered through web sites is the direct result of using ad-block.

Other than that, IE is fine, at least IE7 with tabbed browsing. Firefox has its share of problems too. It all comes down to what kind of browsing you mostly do and a matter of personal preference.

Firefox is all about customization, and that's why those who do prefer it, do prefer it.

I donno, i don't like mozilla firefox..... i just use IE nothing bad happens to me.
Firefox Seems to run Faster For Me
Cause it's better, even reviewers from other sites like C|NET PC magazine, PC world have reviewed them both and firefox came with better results.

Have in mind that changes according to updates, but not often.
What ever works for you, IE tends to be more "buggy" and get viruses easier. I use both because I use HTML alot and i like to see how it looks in both browsers.

If you like IE than use it.
Mozilla firefox is on number 1 rating by users and it is because of its performance, it is fast, consistant and it ask itself that what addons is necessary to play or to run download by web page or in web page...................... thanx
Firefox runs faster and has less security holes.
Because those people have no life... Use whatever you like, they are both safe now.
IE doesn't support CSS as well, so web developers have to work extra hard just to get their page working in IE.
Firefox is faster for me and i can get some themes to make it look how ever i want it to...and i have something where i can download youtube videos...
It all comes down to personal preference. On my system, IE actually works faster than Mozilla. You will be lucky if you don't get some fanboy responses on here that won't look at the facts. More people still use IE than any other browser. Just go look it up.

As for virus or spyware. Really, if you are safe and not an idiot when you browse the internet you shouldn't have to worry about this no matter what browser you do decide to use.

So...Just use what fits your needs and that will be the answer.

***Having an Anti Virus, Anti Spyware/Malware, Registry Cleaner would be smart.
I had to start using mozilla because ie was not allowing me to print web pages.
Firefox is more secure than any IE, you can install any kind of extensions, it follows the W3C standards and is a little faster and a lot more stable.

I recommend you to check out Opera, Safari (for PC) or Flock too. This is what i can tell you about these browsers:

Firefox: Secure, The use of extensions unlimit the browser's functions and you can control skins also. Recommended for developers and people who likes a lot of functionalities.

IE 6: If you have IE 6, update it to 7. It's like you want to have trojans, malwares and any kind of viruses for free.

IE 7: Certainly is not the best browser, but it is growing up and is better than 6 version for sure, is a good choice for someone who doesnt spend a lot of time on Internet. A little secure but it doesn't respect the W3C rules. Maybe the 2008 release come with good stuff.

Opera: Secure like no other and recommended for everyone, it is fast and powerfull at the same time, only safari is faster enough, it can manage mails with a POP service, it uses mouse gestures (wich is awsome), it has a torrent client within and much more, all without extend it.

Safari (for PC): Faster than the others, secure but with a lot of incompatibilities with many websites, i can just say: pity.

Flock: if you have a blog or you have flickr, myspace or facebook accounts and upload a lot of info, photos and videos this is the better browser for you. It is based on the firefox's engine but with exclusive resources.

If you need more information, feel free to send me a email
Mozilla Firefox have 3 advantages to all the web browsers that's: Mozilla Firefox runs much faster than IE6 and even IE7
