My computer has been running really bad for a bit over a week. It keeps freezing ever time I use it. I've run virus scan and nothing is coming up. I have run spyware programs and the computer is clear. . When I check the Windows Task Manager the perfromance is at 100% with Internet Explorer taking up 99% of that. I know IE isn't supposed to take up 99% of the computer's memory. I've found nothing on-line and Microsoft if taking forever to get back to me. Anyone ever have this problem and know how to fix it?

I'm having problems with IE using up all my computer's memory!!!?windows xp home internet explorer

Your internet connection isn't not working.
Whatever you do, Don't get Mozilla Firefox. You will regret it.
What antivirus and antispyware software have you run? It sounds like you still have something bad. Set view characteristics to view all files, hide nothing. Remove all restore points. Update all your AN and AS programs. boot into safe mode, run antivirus and anti spyware programs, reboot and turn on restore points.
Good luck.
Try tools, manage add ons, and check and see what add ons are enabled. You should be able to recognize all the add-ons. If all else fails try posting a hijackthis! log at bleepingcomputer.com as there is a good chance your spyware scans were not totally successful.
Aren't you tired of the Microsoft promises, yet?
Do you long to not have to run 8 different programs to stop the 150,000 Microsoft Virus Definitions, trojans, spy-bots?

It seems like you are suffering from a memory leak. A memory leak is like pouring water in to a pucket with a hole in it, no matter how much water you pour in it never fills up. However, I am a little puzzled because memory leaks in Internet Explorer are very uncommon. Usually, you hear about memory leaks with Firefox web browser.
If you are sure your computer is not infected with viruses or other malicious files then try these tweaks. Did you install any new toolbar or browser help objects (BHO's) before your problem started? If the answer is yes then uninstall it and see if that solves the problem.
You can also try launching folders in separate processes. When you have multiple Internet Explorer windows, if one window becomes unstable then all of them become unstable. By launching the windows separately, other windows will not be affected. Click My Computer %26gt; Tools %26gt; Folder Options %26gt; click "View" tab %26gt; scroll down to "Launch folder windows in a separate process" and check it. Try running IE again
stop using windows. get linux.
