When promted i downloaded the new FF but after installing it found that it came up with a screen sayin unable to connect. At this point ie was still working but then i downloaded the new version of that and now this too will not work i have no more browsers so can not get onto the internet to download a new browser and am currently usuing another computer please help me someone and its not the firewall i disabled this .

basic stupid questions first.
1- have you restarted since the installs?
2- are you modem and router both turned on.
3- all cables connected.
(actually check these things).
If that didn't work you can try to clear the DNS catch, it may not do it, but it wont hurt.
Go to your start menu, click run.
Type ipconfig /release
press enter (yes, there is a space before the "/" but not after.

1. What OS are you running?
2. What type of internet connection do you have?
3. What do you see in the browser connection settings?
4. Did you try running the Internet Connection Wizard?
