Firefox suddenly becomame slower than IE. what gives?microsoft access

Just try downloading a fresh copy of firefox and installing it. Do you make sure you clear your cookies and other temporary files after you close firefox each time? IE is terrible!!!!

Firefox suddenly becomame slower than IE. what gives?windows mobile 6 internet explorer

you can check for updates click firefox help

if you have personalised the profile to jazz up firefox, it is possible this is interfering

if so you have to do this to fix it

Firefox will not start

===============

This can be caused by an error in in your Firefox profile.

When you uninstall Firefox your profile remains, so when you install Firefox again it will still not start.

Do this but you will lose any modifications you have done.

1. Save your bookmarks

click start %26gt;search %26gt;all files and folders %26gt; enter “ bookmarks”.

When you find bookmarks.html, open to check if you got the right one . Scroll down to see if it contains your bookmarks. Copy and paste the file in another location eg memory stick.

2 Uninstall firefox in add /remove programs console

3. Click start %26gt;search %26gt;all files and folder %26gt; search for "firefox"

Look in any firefox folders and see if you can find the profiles folder, any way delete anything to do with the firefox browser. (be carefull in what you are deleting as this is a general search).

4 Hopefully the profiles folder was found, if not search again, this time for "profiles". now you may get other program stuff, the firefox profiles has "u9ed7iuj.default" in it

5 Delete it, delete anything to do with firefox.

6 Install Firefox by downloading it as a file and install it from your hard drive. I suggest to say NO to google toolbar.

7 Import your bookmark.httml by searching for bookmarks.html and pasting yours over the top of it (replace).

OR you can try to import it . Open firefox %26gt; bookmarks %26gt;organise bookmarks %26gt;file %26gt;import.

8 When you transfer the bookmarks you may have to transfer the contents only.

do this to ie7

IE7

=======

Over time IE7 seems to set its own (or programs do) tick boxes in the advance tab.

In IE7 Tools %26gt;Internet Options %26gt;Advance Tab

Click Restore advance settings defaults button.

Then scroll the listings down to near the bottom and:

Tick empty temp files when browser closes (this empties the cache, which if not empty, will stop you from going online).

Bullet disable phishing filter (optional. Leave it on if you want that type of protection, usually for financial data like internet banking)

Delete Browser History, cookies, add ons, the whole lot regularly.

Close the browser to set the settings.
I'm assuming you have rebooted your computer and cleared the firefox cache and cookies already.

Eliminate plug-ins by starting firefox in safe mode.

Start|Run: firefox -safe-mode.

Is it still slow.

If not open firefox. Tools/ Add-ons/extensions. Figure out which Add-on is causing the problem by disabling add-ons.

The best approach is binary elimination. Disable half of the add-ons. If the problem goes away. Reenable half of the ones you disabled. If it persists reenable the half you disabled, and disable the other half. By repeating this a few times you will find the add-on that causes the problem.

If safe mode doesn't help let me know. I will figure out some other stuff to try.
check "about:config" put that in your URL
