The new messenger is causing an IE error, is there a patch for it?

Every time I close a window, such as a game table, I get an error that IE has to shut down. Is there a patch or way to fix this? I really prefer the new messenger, but the error is driving me absolutely crazy. Any suggestions? Other than going back to an old version of messenger.

Are you using IE7? A lot of people based on posts on this forum are having issues with IE7 and also conflicts with chat. If this is the case and no one has a solution for you, you can uninstall IE 7 through add/remove programs in control panel and you will automatically get IE 6 back.

If you are in IE 6 then try this (I am not sure of the equivalent in IE7 since it is differernt format). After exiting yahoo messenger (right click icon by clock, exit) , try going to Tools then Internet Options of your browser and on the Advanced Tab click Restore Defaults button near the bottom then click apply. You can also click on the Programs Tab "Reset Web Settings," now uncheck that box to reset your home page, it isn't necessary to change your home page. Click apply and ok. Now close this browser window. Ok restart yahoo messenger and see if that solves your problem. If it doesn't there are 2 more things to try. Again make sure you exit yahoo messenger first.

Update your Adobe Flash Player http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplaye...

And your Sun Java http://www.java.com/en/download/index.js...

I hope something I have suggested helps you.

Oh yeah one last suggestion, maybe in the connections settings of preferences try either the No Proxies setting and if that doesn't work try No Network Detected.

I am not sure it is necessary to reboot but give it a try.
