Unable to open a webpage using IE 7.0 inspite of being connected to the Internet.?

Hi,My Sony Vaio Laptop is conencted to Internet via a wireless modem.It is running with an avg of 48 Mbps speed.Using the ping command,I could see that the packets are also being sent across and recieved.But,I am unable to open a web page with IE 7.0.

Please let me know if there are any Vaio settings which needs to be srutinized for the same.

there has to be something wrong with your internet server or the website itself or its server

See basically you should check the requirements for using the IE 7 then you should try using it.Other wise IE 6 would be a better option.
